Kelowna United Soccer U15 Girls Provincial A Silver Medallists
The Kelowna United girls U15A team fell just short of the provincial A title, losing 1-0 to Surrey-Guildford in the championship game held Saturday in Kamloops. In the first half, the Surrey keeper was forced to make several stellar saves off runs by Taylor Lowenberg, Elisa Joyce and Devon Weaden to keep the match even at half time. In the second half KU’s keeper, Ana Biagi, kept pace make two stellar saves of her own to keep the score deadlocked until the 64th minute. A Surrey shot from just outside the 18 went just over the outstretched arms of Biagi into the top of the night. Despite some intense pressure during the final minutes, United was unable score the equalizer. It was a tremendous game between two very evenly matched teams. Congratulations to all the KU players for a tremendous result.
