Kelowna United History
Did you know?
- Since 2004, Kelowna United has sent more teams to the ‘A’ Provincials than any club in B.C.
- In 2004, 2006 and 2007, Kelowna United had more teams in the Provincial ‘A’ finals than any club in B.C.
- In 2008, Kelowna United became an official club.
2001
The COYSA U12 Boys earn silver at the B.C. Provincials. Kelowna United does not exist at this time.
2002
Three COYSA teams take the Provincial podium. The U12 Boys and the U14 Girls claim silver while the
U16 Girls capture gold and continue on to the Nationals.

2003
The U15 Girls capture gold at the Provincials. The U13 Boys win silver.
Seven Kelowna players are selected to play on Provincial teams

2004
Kelowna United is established as the Select division of COYSA
Andrew Latham is hired as Technical Director
10 of 11 Kelowna United teams qualify for the ‘A’ Provincials Three teams take home silver: the U12 Girls, the U13 Boys and the U17 Boys The U18 Girls win Provincial gold and continue on to the Nationals
Six Kelowna players are selected to play on Provincial teams:

Six Kelowna players earn soccer scholarships:
- Angie Klienfelder - University of Texas El Paso
- Britany Popoff- University of Texas El Paso
- Kayla Polman Tuin - University Southern Louisiana
- Minnie Gidda – Grand Canyon University
- Whitney Agassiz - Trinity Western University (Trinity wins the National Championship)
- Janelle Smith - University of Victoria (Janelle scores the game-winning goal at the National Championships)
2005
11 of 13 Kelowna United teams qualify for the Provincial
The U14 Boys take home Provincial Gold, making them the first boys team outside of the Lower Mainland to win the Provincials. The team competes at the National and places 4th. The U13 Girls claim Provincial silver.
Seven Kelowna players are selected to play on Provincial teams:

2006
12 of 13 Kelowna United teams qualify for the Provincials
Five Kelowna teams take the Provincial Podium. Gold is awarded to the U12 Girls with silver claimed by the U12 Boys, the U13 Boys, the U13 girls and the U16 Boys.
Five Kelowna players are selected to play on Provincial teams:

- Teaghan Cohrane
- Deanna Long
- Sarah Lye
Nine players are invited to attend the Super Y League Olympic Development Program in Florida:

- Maddi Reid
- Jana Yates
Six players earn soccer scholarships:
- Tyler Murphy - Mid Western State University
- Jobe Waughman - Lindenwood University
- Jessica Briker - University of British Columbia
- Carmen Lindsay - University of British Columbia
- Paige Cochrane - University of British Columbia
- Aliza Cundy - University of British Columbia
Four Kelowna United alumni are part of the UBC Girls soccer team that wins the 2006 National Championships.
2007
7 of 9 Kelowna United teams qualify for the ‘A’ Provincials
The U18 Boys win Provincial gold and continue on to the National Championships
The U14 Boys, U13 Girls and U18 girls all win silver at the Provincials
Jessa Joles makes the Provincial team and attend the National Training Centre
Eleven players are invited to attend the Super Y League Olympic Development Program in Florida:
