Season/Training
Select tryouts are held in October and the season runs from April through early October, with a break between mid-July and mid-August. Teams generally practice once a week in the fall and increase to twice weekly in April, when weekly games begin. The season wraps up in October, when a play-off tournament to determine the Interior league champion is held.

Provincials
The Provincial Championships are held in July and TOYSL league standings are used to determine which team will represent the Interior zone in the ‘B’ division.

Skills & Goalie Training
District Development Centre (DDC) training is included in registration fees and begins in October and continues weather permitting through April. Separate training for goalkeepers, under the director of goal coach Marty Vincze, is also held.

Tournaments
Teams are expected to enter at least three BCSA or CSA sanctioned away tournaments each year. This obligation may be reduced to two tournaments if one of the events is international or takes place outside of B.C. Tournament expenses are not part of the KU registration fee and are the responsibility of the team.

Multi Sport Athletes
Players are expected to practice as often as possible, however KU does not ask players to choose between sports. Once soccer season begins, we expect soccer to be the priority.

Talking to the coach on game day.
Parents are asked not to discuss game strategy or their child’s performance with the coach on game day. Give yourself 24 hours before discussing any concerns you may have.

Parents area opposite players.
The field and team bench are off limits to parents on game day. Please cheer your team on from the opposite side.
