Thank you to all the generous sponsors who donated to the project. We couldn’t have done it without your support!
Guest speakers included members of BC Soccer and Kelowna City Council. Luke Stack (Kelowna City Council) and Mark Krehel of Kelowna United performed the ribbon cutting together …..a symbolic act that highlighted the partnership between the City and the Club which paved the way for the vision of a facility to become a reality! Congratulations to all of the organizers, supporters and staff!
Nov 3rd, 2013 The end of the Project is in sight! In the sunshine on Sunday afternoon, the hardworking volunteers and staff of Kelowna United were successful in getting the Dome closed in and inflated! It was a happy day as the huge white bubble slowly rose from the ground and took shape! Looking at times like a new extreme sport park with huge white rollers forming from one end to the other, it slowly became apparent that this was one continuous bubble as the air continued to lift the white panels from the foundation. Thanks to all who took part in making this a truly memorable and successful day!
Oct 24th, 2013 The gas and electrical services are being installed. The turf installation will begin Oct 29th and the dome installation begins Nov 1st! Just in time as we head into the winter season!
Oct 1st, 2013 Progress continues on the site for the dome as the concrete work proceeds. The gas and electrical services have been roughed in.
In the meantime, the bubble is being fabricated at the facility in Ontario. Reports indicate that overall, the project is going well!
Sep 19th, 2013 Sure enough! The concrete has arrived! Mark Krehel takes time out of his busy schedule to check on progress.
Sep 13th, 2013 The leveling and compacting continues. Peering through the security fencing, you can see the rebar and forms that are going in to support the concrete pour of the foundation yet to come!
Aug 30th, 2013 Dirt is being hauled back in, leveled and compacted in preparation for the foundation as progress continues on the new dome!
Aug 16, 2013 This new indoor/outdoor facility is expected to be completed and ready for use in October, just in time for the winter season! Covered by an air-supported dome for the colder months, the dome will be removed in the spring to allow for outdoor training. The the latest in artificial turf will allow for practice rain or shine! Check back for progress reports!
